Is there anything I need to know for a th350 to 700r4 swap that I'm forgetting? I know I will need a bellhousing adapter plate and need shorten the driveshaft 3 inches. I know there is something about a TV cable that I need to worry about, what is it? And how do I move a crossmember?

IIRC the mounting bolts are in a different location and you have to make new mounting holes. I'll ask my dad and get back to you on that, though, he did the swap on his C10.

So your parents are picking up a tranny for you? Very cute!

*glare* Yep, and then they are going car shopping with the tranny in the cargo area.

Any clue on how to move a crossmember?

I'm afraid not, but Google around a bit, there are always helpful sites with guides, especially for such a common swap like that.

Depends on the vehicle. On my truck, the crossmember was mounted on the straight portion of the frame, so it would just be a matter of drilling new holes for it.
Also, I believe the TV cable goes from your throttle body (or the butterfly valve on your carb) to the transmission to tell the transmission what the throttle position is (not 100% sure on that, my truck has a TH400 so it uses a vacuum line).
Also, just curious, why the swap? You just want an overdrive gear?

All I know about TV cables is if I am not mistaken you mess up adjusting it and your transmission goes boom real quick.

I'm coming from a th350. This car is my daily driver, so the OD gear will help quite a bit. The 700 also has a better 1st gear to help me get off the line quicker.

My 200-R4 uses a TV cable too. It attaches to the throttle, and when you push the pedal further to the floor, it lets the engine rev higher before shifting and makes the shifts firmer. And it is VITAL you adjust it properly, otherwise your shift points will be FUBAR'd.
